Sky calendar →How these numbers are worked out
Everything on this page is calculated in your browser for your place with Astronomy Engine: the phase and how much of the disc is lit, the distance from the centre of the Earth, moonrise and moonset (the upper edge of the Moon on a flat horizon, with refraction), quarters, perigees and apogees, eclipses and libration. The picture shows the Moon as it looks from your place at the time given under it, with the top towards the zenith; its map is the one used by the 3D Moon atlas.
A supermoon here is a full Moon within a day and a half of perigee and closer than 360,000 km; a micromoon is a full Moon near apogee, farther than 405,000 km.
